Hanging Basket Liners

A few years ago I bought several metal hanging baskets with coconut fiber liners. Since then, the coconut liners have assisted many local birds and squirrels in building materials for their nests. Good for them, bad for me. The remains of the liners were not only unsightly, but were no longer able to retain enough soil to be used for plantings. I couldn't justify the expense of replacing them with new coconut liners that would be torn apart again, so I needed an inexpensive and practical solution to replace the old liners. I finally solved the problem by using those new "green" shopping bags that can be purchased at the grocery stores, usually for $1.00 a piece. Within the next few days, I'll post a picture of the results, and give you the instructions so you can make your own liners, too. I love the new liners!
